Titus has become so much more verbal the last couple months and in that his sense of humor is showing up more and more. Here are a few stories from the last week:
STORY #1
Aaron's parents are in town and so we have been doing some sight seeing in the area. We went to a local park to check out the campgrounds and have a picnic on Monday. We drove to the lake first to show grandma the lake. As you drive toward the lake there is no turn-around away from the lake until you are almost to the water. It looked like we were going to drive right into the water. Titus' reply to all this, "Whatcha doing momma?" in a very worried tone.
STORY #2
Titus loves water and has always been fascinated with water. Now when he sees a creek, river, or lake he says, "Need a boat."
STORY #3
Yesterday we went to the zoo. Before we left the house grandma wanted a bottled water and was looking for them behind the driver's seat. I told grandma that the waters were packed in the back of the van. Titus' reply to all this was, "Picky, picky." It wasn't so funny in what he said as it was funny watching him try to formulate in his head how to say what he wanted to say as he was saying it. You could see the wheels turning.
STORY #4
On our way to the zoo we stopped at McDonald's. On our way from McDonald's to the zoo Titus randomly said, "I see Starbucks." You would think I go there all the time, but in reality I only go about once a month, really I do.
STORY #5
One of the games we play with Titus is Aaron and I "fighting" over him. I say, "My Titus," and pull on him. Then, Aaron pulls on him and says, "My Titus." Tonight we were playing that game and Titus wanted to be mine. I stole him, he gave me the biggest hug, and said, "Happy." It made my night.
STORY #6
Just within the last week Titus is trying to tell us stories about his day. He is also potty-training himself. Every time he has sat on the potty for the past two weeks he has pointed to his knee and said, "Boo boo." He has fallen and over time it has healed. Even when a speck of it was left he still pointed out his, "boo boo." Earlier this week I sat him on the potty and it was completely gone. Titus asked me about it and I tried to explain what healing was. Apparently healing in Titus' mind means, "Momma took it." Later that night as Aaron was rocking him to sleep Titus was telling Daddy, "Mommy took boo boo. All gone."
Another day Titus was telling me about his foot and a bug. I asked grandma about a bug, since she had been watching him earlier in the day and I couldn't recall a bug. Apparently, there had been a bug on his slide and grandma had to get rid of it.
STORY #7
This morning Titus told me he was going downstairs. Next thing I know I hear him running back up the stairs and slamming the door at the top of the stairs. I ask him what is going on, and he says, "bug." I asked him where the bug was and he said, "On the stairs." I was looking on the stairs for a bug and couldn't find one. I had him point it out to me. At the very bottom of the stairs I found the bug. It was a dead fly.
