July 4th in North Dakota

Every July 4th I have taken Titus' picture in a rocking chair for age comparison from year to year. This year we were up in North Dakota. In this post will be pictures of Titus by a tree and Titus with his Papa and Grandma on the porch. Papa and Grandma actually have a rocking chair similar to ours, so I was able to get my annual picture. Those pictures will follow in a separate post.

Take My Picture

I was taking pictures of decorations I made for a friend's baby shower...

when Titus wanted his picture taken too.

A Weird Moment

Titus sitting on the front porch eating apples with peanut butter was a weird moment for me. Why? That is about all I ate my third trimester when I was pregnant with him. Before this moment he has been interested and has tried eating this yummy snack, but not successful with the apple. He is now capable and in all reality I think the apples are just a means to get more peanut butter. The kid loves peanut butter.

Camping in the Camper

Titus probably doesn't remember camping when he was 9 months old, but he wanted to go camping as his first big prize for keeping his underwear dry/peeing in the potty. Yeah, he was still watching Curious George occasionally back here in June and Curious George went camping so that meant Titus wanted to go camping. We are also looking at selling our camper and this was kind of a test run to see if it was what we really wanted to do. We decided the time has come and we don't use the camper enough to keep it around. Where we live now is also better camping - less crowded, not as noisy, woodsy, etc. and we have the bathrooms we like without having to share with 1,000 other people. They smell better too.

We decided Titus may or may not have camping memories that would be cool to have, but he will have other fun memories that we create in other ways.

Roughing it with the Kindle

My parents met up with us Saturday morning and camped on Saturday night in the camper with us. We were up in Southern Indiana and my parents took Titus with them when they went to a family reunion. Aaron and I got a date and went hiking. We were planning on a 2 mile hike and ended up probably doing around 4 miles.

See the neighbors camper? Our neighbors around our house are much, much further away.

Packing Up
The job of pushing things to the front of the truck has been passed down to the next generation. I, hopefully, don't ever have to climb into the back of the truck again (hurting my knees).

Big Bird

Titus is taller than Big Bird. Well, at least he is taller than his Big Bird puzzle. He loves doing puzzles with other people.

Suckers

I'm not sure when these pictures were taken. Based on his haircut and the age he looks it was definitely after Easter and before his summer haircut. My best guess is in June. I really need to change the dates on that disk. Regardless, suckers have a calming effect on Titus. They work great with shopping. He hasn't ridden in the cart shopping for a long while. Once in awhile you can get him to ride in shopping carts with cars, or the Wal-Mart carts with the sit or stand part in the front, and occasionally in the base part of the cart. However, he mostly walks/runs around. He has gotten better at listening, but it is still sometimes a struggle. Suckers calm him and that means he walks nicely next to me paying more attention to his sucker, than to running around the store like a crazy lunatic.
